no dominion
And death shall have no dominion.
Dead mean naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.
And death shall have no dominion.
Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily;
Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;
Faith in their hands shall snap in two,
And the unicorn evils run them through;
Split all ends up they shan't crack;
And death shall have no dominion.
And death shall have no dominion.
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain;
Though they be mad and dead as nails,
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion.

though life has it's moments of both love and loss, I truly believe
there is beauty in both circumstances. Maybe part of seeing the beauty,
even in the darker moments, has to do w/ perspective.
It's hard to believe an entire year has passed. here we are looking at the start of another one. I think as we're getting older, moments seem to pass by faster than they ever did. Looking into the beginning of a new year, I know time will only continue to move by us if we're just standing there & watching it. I hope that i can learn to see things with the right perspective. That instead of looking at the things i didn't do...or the things i don't have...i hope i can see that i already have everything i need. I also hope i can live each day fully & w/o the fear of failure.
There is so much joy in seeing the beauty each day brings. And to share those moments w/ the people you love is really the best thing about living.

as it's happening
coming home
eyes as dark as egypt
we have all the time in the world
hey sparrow
into black
give everything
every breath we drew
freedom lies in being bold
surrounded by your friends
i saw doves
waiting for a roar
roll through open doors
on every wave
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.”
the idea of our futures slowly unraveling before us each day makes everything about life exciting. Maybe i'll make a few mistakes along the way...but i really i think i'm going to try to make the most of every opportunity–or at least attempt to do my best to. I like the idea of having the courage to take opportunities as they come. who knows where tomorrow will lead us...

sometimes the moon looks close enough to reach. right now it's doing one of those things where it's resting just above the city lights in the sky. i know it's just another trick played on us by our perception–but in low light, everything about the city seems caught somewhere in between a dream and the real.
